Things are still the same, son is doing year 11, girl is doing year 8, husband still working away, currently in South Australia, and I am still a stay at home mother.
We are heading to South Australia in the morning (Friday) to stay with husband until Monday, even though he will only have Sunday to spend with us. We are going to see Transformers movie and maybe have a coffee afterwards, something to look forward to i guess. Just not looking forward to the 5 hour drive across boring dry land... i need scenery!!

Living in the Murray Mallee photography competition

I entered a local photography competition last month with 11 entries in total and this photo ^^ was awarded a Highly Commended prize of a $50 voucher from a book store. I was a bit disappointed, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, but it was an experience. Tomorrow (before soccer) I'm going back to the Art Gallery to take a look at the other 490 odd entries.

My baby is 11 today

My baby girl is celebrating her 11th birthday today. Gosh, it makes me feel so old now, imagine what I will feel like when she is 18!!
Here she is helping her dad doing some concreting... at least she's more helpful than her brother some days.
We're having a little party tonight with a few friends, nothing big, but enough to wear me out....

History

This is my great grandfather. He was one of 10 siblings and only one was a girl, ugh, imagine life in a little old house with all those boys....
My new project is a scrapbook gift to my father for Christmas this year, don't think I could finish it before this Sunday (his birthday) so I will be working hard on making it look antique with all black and white photographs from his photoalbum.
I've been looking thru his photos and imagining what it was like in the summer with no modern air conditioning or modern refridgerators for food storage. We take so much for granted now and whine when something breaks down. Back in 'the old days' they didn't miss what they never had in the first place. Maybe if we turned back the clock and made our children experience what our forefathers did, they wouldn't act so spoilt and selfish.
